It very quiet and vacuum with ease

Hoping that this helps others. I have replaced my pump 3 times over the 12 years we've had our pool, 4 if you count the rebuild. All were Hayward Super II, 1HP, model SP3007X10A. All burned out from heat. The current pump is less than one year new and runs burning hot. I bought an infrared thermometer, it reads 250 deg F on the motor casing, absolutely ridiculous. I also bought a clamp ammeter; it runs at 9 amps (spec is 7.5). Found nothing of any help on the internet, just the obvious "check the basket", "check for obstructions", "check wired correctly". Good luck getting a hold of Hayward, no phone number that I could find, and my email has gone unanswered. Another pump failure was imminent, so I bought this one as a backup, figured if I'm replacing the pump every year anyway then why pay 3 times more. Installed it to make sure it would work, and boy did it work! Motor casing 105 deg F (yes, Fahrenheit!), running at 6 amps, no noticeable difference in the pressure gauge reading or suction when vacuuming, and it's even quieter! This thing will pay for itself in electricity cost savings in one season alone over the Hayward. I cannot understand how Hayward has this reputation as the industry standard, my experience has been the complete opposite. The "Super" pump is now sitting in the shed collecting dust as the backup.

Great pump, very quite and excellent price. Just be careful when hooking hydro to it that it's switched over to the proper voltage. Can be wired to 110V or 240V. Just a switch you slide over
