Well, I was a skeptic about replacing my current Hayward Super pump (i've had for 12 years) with another model, but when the man on the phone told me it would fit the footprint and is virtually the same pump ( with different wet-end??) I took a chance to save myself a nice 100$ bill and sure enough it fit just nicely where my old pump had been. I guess technology got better because it seems quieter. This is a lower price range pump i own a few of them because i use it for my fish tank, i have the pump running 24/7 i would replace a new pump about every two years. what i like about this pump is not too loud, hate it how i need to replace it often. For a small swimming pool it should get the job done
