Expected it to last longer than 6 years. Motor seized when trying to start this year. Serviced it as the impeller shaft was corroded. Went to start again and it was buzzing and shot flames from the motor before I could turn it off. Replaced the capacitor but the motor is done. Looking for a replacement now.

Delivery was fast and the pump runs real smooth with a lot of flow. Only 2 cons i can think of. First is that it didn't come with the cable to plug it. Second is that it has no switch. I will need to go get one and until then, I have to unplug/plug it every time.

Replaced a dead GE pump. Produces a strong flow, and having a very clear, magnified view of the leaf/hair basket is a big plus -- you don't have to open it to see if it needs emptying.

I have a pretty large pool for a back yard pool, and the max flow pump was a 3/4 hp which seemed like not enough, so after considering volume and distance, I decided on the Super Pump 1 1/2 hp. It was a very simple switch, just two wires,(and a ground wire of course) and the plumbing was an exact match.
Now my Hayward pool vac system literally flies around the pool, and does the work in much less than half the time it would have taken before and goes into every inch of the surface sides and bottom.
I wish I would have bought it sooner.
