Well, see my earlier comment above. UPDATE - it worked well for 26 months (2 months after the warranty expired) and the driver failed. To replace this part is $1075, plus with COVID, parts cannot be sourced. Pentair customer service was zero help. I won't but this product again.

This pump is a great buy. Good value and I can already see my electrical bill decreasing. Very easy to set the speeds, duration and time of day from the factory settings if you need to. Delivery was fast Pentair Customer Service in the United States was very helpful too. "Bill" guided me through a few steps and I had all my answers in one phone call. Much appreciated. Great having support from the manufacturer

Great pump for great price

We replaced an old 1Hp Hayward single speed pump, was going to purchase another Hayward pump but after some additional research Pentair seemed to be the better choice. This pump has been excellent, we have 1.5" plumbing so to see the approx. flow as our old pump the rpms need to be set ~2200rpms. At this this rpm setting the pump draws just over 500watts & is far quieter then the old pump (our pump is located in the garage). We typically run the unit at 2000rpms for 4hrs a day with the Zodiac cleaner, which draws ~420watts & then an additional 12hrs at 1400rpm (very quiet at this speed), which draws ~210watts. This should give us more then the recommended one turn over a day (probably 1.5-2 turn over per day) & still much cheaper to run vs the old pump for 8 hrs a day. The water looked excellent before but is even better now, crystal clear due to circulating the water longer per day & also at slower speeds which makes the filter more efficient.

Just got this installed and is very quiet compared to my old Hayward Single Pump that recently died. The variable speed settings on the Pentair can be programmed and customized and is certainly much more energy efficient and should pay for itself in a couple years. Its apparently well made and my installer speaks well of this product. Pentair policy is this pump must be installed by a qualified professional in order to qualify for the 2 year warranty & rebate otherwise its only a 60 day warranty and no manufacturers rebate.
