Detailed Product Description

Save Time, Money AND Hard Work With an Eliminator XTreme Cover! Proudly Made in Canada!

A blue mesh line runs down the center of the cover. During the winter, ice and snow envelop the cover weighing it down in the center. As the snow melts in the spring, the water filters through the mesh line. As a result, the cover slowly rises. When the ice has melted, the cover is stretched tightly across the pool. Any debris, leaves or dirt dry up and simply blow away and your cover is clean and free of debris. Simply unhook the straps, rinse it off and fold it up. Your pool water is leaf free. You save hours of time and hard work. No more pumping water off your cover! No more piles of leaves in your pool! A superior above ground pool Winter cover unlike any other in the market! Note: Not for use with any soft sided pool models (Intex, Bestway, etc).

IMPORTANT: Do not lower water level before installing, read installation instructions for proper installation method.

Above ground Eliminator XTreme Winter Covers - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Eliminator Xtreme Cover with my inground pool?

No - our eliminator winter covers are for aboveground swimming pools only.

Decking- What if I have a full deck around my pool?

The Eliminator Xtreme can now be stretched across the pool and onto the deck. The deck walkway however needs to be a minimum of 24" in order to anchor the straps. However, in some instances eye bolt anchors will be needed to attach the 'S' hook.

What if I have a partial deck?

In most instances the cover can switch from vertical anchors to horizontal for the deck part. Eye bolts may be required for this.

Will the cover go around a fence kit attached to the pool?

In most cases the cover will go around a fence attached to the side of the pool.

Why don't I have to drain my pool? Will draining not crack my skimmer or return?

Using the Eliminator dam system is optional. However, to maximize water conservation the dam system is recommended, so that draining the pool for winter is not necessary. The skimmer must however be left open for surplus water to drain out, also using foam pads or similar is recommended to install in the skimmer to prevent ice crushing.

What if I have an in-jet light in my pool?

Remove the light bulb as per normal and in most cases a rubber plus is required (#9) to seal off the return. If you use the dam system it is not necessary to drain water down below the return. Simply remove the light bulb under the water and quickly insert plug. Will I get wet, probably but it is better than lowering the water line.

Will drilling into my vertical posts crack/ rust/ weaken them? Void Warranty?

No - the system is no different than attaching a fence kit to the side of the pool. The mounting screws are 3/4" in size.

Can I or should I use my old cover and leaf net along with this new cover?

We do not see any advantage to this but it might be necessary in very high leaf areas to combine a leaf net on top of the cover.

Will attaching the cover with bungees collapse my pool?

No - the vertical bungees put very little stress on the pool.

Why can't I just attach my traditional cover with bungees that I buy at a hardware store?

No - it simply will not work. The Eliminator cover is quite different in design.

How much longer will this cover last than a traditional cover? Why?

We expect the Eliminator Xtreme to last on average up to 7 years. This is because the wind stress is much less and your cover is not sitting on water or chemicals.

Do I have to put the skimmer dam on?

No - this is optional. It is only there in order to maximize water conservation.

How long does it take to install? How many people?

With 2 people it will take less than 45 minutes.

Important note: Eliminator Xtreme Winter covers are not safety covers.

I like this over the standard winter covers. the built in net really helps filter water and keep the gunk out.

- Review by Contira &James on November 4, 2014

quality is fair, appearance is fine, durability is the main attraction to this cover as it has lasted 2 very harsh winters here in NS

- Review by Farrah on November 6, 2014

Perfect for my pool, after trying a couple regular covers and wasting money for 2 seasons replacing - this one i bought and now using for a second time - im a happy guy

- Review by Warner on November 7, 2014

- Review by John on November 7, 2014

superb cover. I have owned many different style covers in the past and this one is as secure and durable as they come (in fact I have yet to try any others since buying this since it's lasted me going on 2 years)

- Review by Nick on November 7, 2014

Very useful. "Eliminated" the need for a leaf net since one is built right in.

- Review by Jaime on November 7, 2014

Love this cover. Easy to put on, dvd instructions are great, only thing different we did was put more padding over top caps. Awesome cover no tears or holes held up extremely well. So if you are looking for a winter pool cover look no further strongly recommend this one.

- Review by Lori Worthington on March 18, 2015

This cover is awesome and a great value. It can be a little tedious the 1st time as you drill the holes for the strap holders, but it is a great cover once installed and you only have to do that once. All of the water and snow drains into the pool so there is no cleaning it off in the spring and it stretches back to shape . All leaves and debris simply blow away. There is no need to weigh it down as the straps do all the work. In the spring it can help fill your pool back up by draining the spring rain into the pool, we barely had to use our garden hose at all to fill it back up above the skimmer. After one full winter the cover shows no signs of wear ( make sure you pad it properly underneath with supplied padding where corners can wear through it). We hope to get many more years out of this excellent winter cover! Thanks.

- Review by Dylan M on May 13, 2015

Someone was thinking!! How did I not have this cover 10 years ago. Wow. No water to pump off my cover or drop in the pool in the Spring, no mosquitos, no floating squirels or birds, AND indside my pool is full in the Spring, no water added : ) Happy Customer here. Highly recommend for all Above Ground Pool owners. Make sure you get the Xtreme Eliminator brand as my sister had something similar and the Bungee Cords broke during the winter.

- Review by Freddy on July 16, 2015

Great idea! Fast Shipping. Thanks

- Review by Astrid Amy on July 16, 2015

Purchased this to replace our standard winter cover. I can not give a full review as this will be the first winter using the Eliminator cover. However I'd like to review the product and install giving its first impressions. I noticed the attachment hardware fasteners are not stainless steel? I was disappointed knowing that unless I don't change to stainless steel. I'm going to have rust stains on my pool! The supplied plug did not work with my return outlet. I had to purchase the rubber pressure fit type. Again added expense and time lost :( The skimmer dam is foam and requires you to caulk it into place. Mine seems to be leaking water. However I don't think it's a major concern? Our pool has a partial deck on one side with wooden 4x4 deck posts. It made getting the cover completely tight on the pool difficult. Something to consider if you have a similar situation. As for overall rating. I love the concept. Installation was much faster and easier then the traditional type of covers. The true test is yet to come. I'll report back in spring :)

- Review by Cory LaPointe on September 29, 2015

The cover is great quality and a great innovation. It rains and all the water drains through the screens. The only downfall is the foam strainer dam. It is impossible to get it to fit properly even with silicone seal.

- Review by Dale Quesnel on October 29, 2015

Have only had this cover for 1 winter, however I am impressed with the durability. No water to remove from the top. Excess water and snow melt filtered through, it did exactly as advertised. Highly recommend!

- Review by Bawbie on April 17, 2016

This is my 2nd review. This time we just removed the cover from its first winter of use. If you are on the fence about this cover. Don't be! Buy it now!!! It does what it claims! Just opened up our Pool and all I had to do was un clip the straps that hold the cover down. Roll it up and re connect the plumbing. I didnt have to suction off piles of leaves. Add any water to the pool. Nothing! I should metion our pool is directly under a mess of pine trees. As the winter snow melted the cover sprang make tight and all those pine needles just got blown away! We did a little dirt inside the pool over the winter. But its nothing!!!

- Review by Cory LaPointe on May 17, 2016

We purchased one of these a couple of years ago. When we remove it, the water is crystal clean. The only issue is getting a tight fit when putting it on. Water tends to weigh it down, no matter what we do. This fall we purchased a leaf net and it seemed to help a fair amount as there were no leaves weighing it down along with the water that accumulates in it. Still a great product.

- Review by Brenda Dooley on July 6, 2016

Great idea!

- Review by Jane on August 23, 2016

This winter pool cover is the best I have ever owned. Well worth the money, pays for itself. You put it on and forget about it until the spring when its time to open your pool.

- Review by Debbie Motley on May 30, 2017

This cover is amazing. I live in New Brunswick, so this cover is on 8 months of the year. After taking the cover off (ensuring you close the pool properly) the water is crystal clear. This is our 3 year with the cover and it has made opening the pool so much easier.

- Review by Katherine O'Donnell on June 12, 2017

I had one that lasted many years. Fantastic product!

- Review by Beth skerrett on July 23, 2017

Best cover I've ever had piece of cake to put on and take off, saves hours of cleaning time, and when it's going to not freeze any more I shut valves off on hoses and let water from rain fill it up, haven't had to add water in start up time in years

- Review by Ron matthews on August 20, 2017

Going into my 3rd winter and it is the best winter cover we have had in my 20 years of putting away our pool. Order some extra loop tie down brackets in the "parts" section. I have only had one broken so far but they are easy to replace.

- Review by Dale Quesnel on October 7, 2017

Just purchased this cover, but if you own an Atlantic above ground pool the plug does not fit the supply line. The plug supplied is a male thread, and a female thread is required.

- Review by Terry Jenkins on September 23, 2018

The cover is brilliant. It takes some time for the first install but it is worth the time. The plug for the jet is perfect although it is a bit tricky to seal off the jet inside the pool to allow the plug to be fitted from outside. I just put a sheet of plastic over the jet and threaded the holder on from the inside.

- Review by Arthur Berrill on October 1, 2018

Seems like a good idea and product. It came with everything needed. The only flaw so far is that I can’t for the life of me get the skimmer dam to seal. I used the clear silicone and it still had a small leak which would eventually empty the pool to the slimmer level. I then tried some silicone that will cure under water. It did seal better but still had minor leaks. I’m going to leave it in and hopefully it will seal through the winter so the melted water will fill it back up. We will see.

- Review by Kent B on September 16, 2019

- Review by Lori Worthington on March 18, 2015

after a hard 2018 winter in Quebec with a large temperature difference and an important amount of snow, i don't have any negative points. The water was crystalline when I removed the cover. the installation is very fast and removing it is child's play. I have written to the seller so that they can sell better rubber bungees because they do not stand up well to cold and large temperature differences. I live on the south shore of Quebec city. An excellent product with a small adjustment to bring the belts offered are more resistant to cold.

- Review by François L on November 16, 2019

I would have put 5 stars, it's a wonderful winter cover! The problem is that the foam panel, even with silicone and well in place, was moved at the end of the winter and when the snow began to melt, there was to much pression on the cover and the straps and I got 3 tears 1-2 feet long on on side of the pool. Luckily, there was no damage to my steamer!

- Review by Simon on April 26, 2020

I love the eliminator winter cover. This is the second one we bought. First one lasted 5 winters. I would highly recommend this cover to everyone and several of our friends have switched to this cover now.

- Review by Stephanie D on May 5, 2020

So far so good I’ll let you know after it’s first Sudbury winter

- Review by Patrick R on October 1, 2020

Best winter cover we ever had! We left it on until we were ready to swim on June 1st 2020 and because there were no leaves or anything on the top we just took it off, then washed it off (only a bit of dust from wind - no leaves or tree junk) and let it dry on the driveway and then folded and put it away. The cover heated the pool and because it was still mostly full we only added a bit of water and opening chemicals and we were in swimming after only a day. We had a trouble-free pool all summer. There is some onetime setup time installing the clamps for the bungee cords. The now did not build up on it, even when it was very wet snow. Being flat the snow easily blew away.

- Review by Terri G on October 4, 2020

Amazing cover, easy to install.

- Review by Donna E on March 8, 2021

this is an excellent product , kept all debris out of my pool. The small mesh slits worked to allow melting snow and rain filter through. the leaves and debris just blew away when they dried up. the bungee cords kept the perfect tension on the cover as snow built up on it. we had a look under the cover this spring and the water is crystal clear, we will have pool up and running in no time this spring. I would definitely recommend this cover.

- Review by Rob F on April 12, 2021

We have a 24ft pool and it was extremely difficult to put on. It took 4 people to put it on the first time. It had to be readjusted a second time so I have more holes on the legs of the pool because we couldn't get it tight enough. It still sags in the middle! It did not come with padding to go under the cover where the bungee cords attach to the legs. We live in NS and it will be a miracle if our pool is still standing when Spring comes!!

- Review by Kristeena G on October 27, 2021

I really like this product so far. Installed it about six weeks ago and it works as described. Practically no leaves at all and the water seeps through. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because of the inlet plug they provide. My inlet does not have any threads inside of it and is smaller than what they think it is. Seems sizes are not standard for inlets. I tried the inlet plug in other family member pools and they all had the same problem. Also the skimmer blocker does leak - even with copious amount of waterproof sealant. The solution to the inlet plug was that I bought a rubber plug with a wingnut on top and a plate below that expands as you tighten the wing nut. There are a few problems with this - you risk breaking your inlet tube if you overtighten. The colder it gets the more the rubber shrinks. I'm hoping mine stays in place until the pool freezes and then does not move again during the spring thaw. Time will tell. Otherwise I do like the concept.

- Review by Chris on November 4, 2021

perfect

- Review by Nik B on July 27, 2022

Meh, the cover is nice, fits nicely but the installation hardware is atrocious. The hardware included is definitely an after thought. Like at least make the pieces attached to the pool look half decent instead of some pipe hangers from the plumbing section. Also the self tapping screws are not great for a resin post pool. Also for the cost of the pool an 8mm socket with a magnet would be a nice touch...

- Review by Dustin K on October 6, 2022

So far so good. Had had one of the toughest winters, our sons dog walked on it, major wind storms etc. no issues so far.

- Review by Darryl L on April 2, 2023

Hello everyone, This is our second Nova Scotia winter with this cover. Our winters are all over the place with regards to precipitation, temperature, and weather. We often get snow, followed by rain, followed by flash freeze. The cover is still excellently condition. The key is to allow it to move downward with the weight of the snow on top. My cover moves up and down throughout the winter. Right now it’s back to where it was, and how I installed it, taught! …because there’s nothing on it. I’d add pictures, but I don’t see an option. Hope this helps.

- Review by Jim B on April 13, 2023

Looks and feels like it is the best on the market

- Review by Douglas G M on August 10, 2023

I love this cover. It was easy to install and I am able to put it on and take it off single-handedly each season on our 15' round pool. Absolutely no isses with durability after 3 years. I had a problem with the metal skimmer faceplate and contacted the company and they provided a foam one right away, free of charge. I still do find that water leaks a bit around the skimmer, but not too much. This makes spring opening a complete breeze! I do not beleive there is a better winter cover anywhere, at any price!

- Review by Ron P on August 14, 2023

Works great and easy to install. Thanks

- Review by Frank R on September 20, 2023

The part to put inside the skimmer wouldn’t stay even with caulking. Now I have to buy another product (above ground skimmer plug for wide mouth skimmer) and pay $43 with shipping so I can use this pool cover

- Review by Suzanne A on October 1, 2023
