quiet and fantastic replacement

Fantastic pump. My really old 1hp Hayward died unexpectedly (don't they always) so I ordered this one to replace it. It's so quiet compared to the old one you can barely tell it's running! The cord is long and it had no trouble reaching where my old one was plugged in. Added bonus: It uses about 100w less electricity than the old one, saving $10/month. Small shipping issue fixed right away. Great pump, great customer service!

Pump works great! And we got it like... 2 days after ordering it! Had to do a little bit of work to get it to work but it came with the fittings needed to connect to the pump. I would assume most setups it would just swap in (I just needed to replace a 90 that went directly in my old pump with a barbed 90 to connect the pump to the intake hose) Seems like the intake line really does need to be leak free. When first plugged in it would lose the water level, get close to sucking air... turns out there's been a leak in the intake line that was a shoddy connection from the previous homeowner. They did a good job of hiding it but this pump made me find it! The biggest downside is that I can no longer hear if the pump is on from my neighbours house. Have to be standing right beside it to hear it. Can usually see the pump running before I can hear it!

We have a round 15' pool and this pump is AWESOME for it. I think 1.5 would've been too powerful. As it is, the 1 hp is perfect. It has so much power; it helps to keep our pool very clean. We keep ours running 24/7 all summer and it barely affects our hydro bill. Also, once primed properly, it emits almost no sound at all. In fact, you can't even tell that its running it's so whisper quiet. Oh yeah, and it comes with the longest cord! We so appreciate it. Before we had to plug our pump into an extension cord but this one is so long it reaches our outlet on the side of our house.
